Our British Columbia Honeymoon

I just had to share a few (okay more than a few) of the photos we took on our honeymoon spent on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. We spent a day or two in the city of Victoria, a couple days in the hidden woods of Jordan River, and the last couple days near the beaches of Ucluelet. We fell in love with each place and could have easily stayed longer. Beyond exploring the mountains, woods, beaches and lakes, we really loved getting to know the culture of each town. One of the coffeeshops literally didn't have official hours, they just opened and closed whenever so they could surf! We were lucky enough to catch them when they were open on our last day in Jordan river - best breakfast sandwich and coffee ever. It was the little quirks here and there that we fell in love with, along with the beautiful views we got to experience daily. Also one of our favorite things was the weather. June on Vancouver Island is a consistent 60 degree day with a chilly night. Perfect for cozy fire-lit nights and breezy crisp hiking days of no humidity.

This is the first photo we took. After traveling for a day on three planes to get to Vancouver Island, we stayed in an amazing hotel overlooking the harbor of Victoria.

These photos are from our road trip to Jordan River - we stopped at what is called the spit, a cool walking peninsula with a rocky beach and mountains overlooking the water.

We rarely saw other people on most of our hikes, so we had to get really good at self timer and balancing the camera on things it probably shouldn't have been on.

Our first air bnb, a little cottage in the woods! We loved calling this place home for a couple days.

I was freaking out... Tyler was in heaven. This is one of 4 bears we saw throughout our trip, I only managed to get a photo of this guy.

The trees in British Columbia are INSANE. Honestly the photos don't do them justice.

This dinner at the Point Pleasant Resort was amazing! We loved that they had binoculars on the table for whale watching.

This was such a cute farmers market we stopped at on our way to the next air bnb! We got lunch here and enjoyed watching the goats on the roof (so random but cool). There was also a sweet ice cream shop nearby.

We had the best the first day at our second air bnb! We explored so much at the first location that we were pretty exhausted. The new place had such an amazing view that we justified only leaving to pick up some local seafood to grill for dinne…

We had no idea, but Tyler is pretty much a grill master.

The next morning we went to the incredible Zoe's bakery. Since the area of British Columbia we were at is set so far from larger civilization, everything is made locally making it ten times better! This was a great start to the day!

We spent hours exploring tide pools for wildlife - and were never disappointed.

Last stop before the airport - The falls were huge and the water was the most beautiful color I have ever seen!

The falls were our last stop before heading to the airport, only to get stuck in the Toronto airport overnight after a cancelled flight. Three Netflix movies and 5 vending machine snacks later, we caught the next morning flight to make it in time for our best friends' wedding that weekend (check out Max & Paige's Wedding film here!)

It was truly the trip of a lifetime and we feel so blessed to have spent our honeymoon in such a beautiful place. If you are considering a trip to BC, specifically Vancoucver Island, stop considering and book the flight!
